THE ECONOMIC CHAMBER OF MACEDONIA LAUNCHES A SERIES
OF FREE MEDIATION SEMINARS: FIRST TWO TAKE PLACE IN
REGIONAL CHAMBERS IN STIP, KAVADARCI

The Chamber is the first entity that developed this type of service and incorporated it in its portfolio, making it
available to member and non-member companies.

The Economic Chamber, the country’s major business association with the largest membership body, has EDUCATION
created and added a new offer in its portfolio of services. As of now, both member and non-member companies
will have access to mediation support. In this way, the Chamber is endorsing mediation and is making this

method of extrajudicial dispute
resolution more familiar to all
interested entities. Informing a
wider audience about the advantages
of mediation would reduce the
number of unnecessarily long and
expensive court proceedings, and
improve the overall rate of resolved
conflicts. Mediation is focused
on finding solutions acceptable
to both parties and encourages
them to cooperate in the future, as
the whole process is treated with
confidentiality.

In the process of creating this service, the Chamber took into account the needs of businesses on the one
hand, and the importance of making mediation more familiar to the public, on the other.

The initial goal was to inform companies about the amendments to the Law on Litigation Procedure, the

mediation process, and what types of cases or disputes can be resolved through mediation. The Chamber’s

first step was to organize and deliver a cycle of free seminars with lecturers who are licensed mediators

themselves, in accordance with the latest modifications to the Law on Mediation (Official Gazette of the
