Holly March, who usually steals their
scene and resolves the problems. The
chemistry of this atypical acting trio
acts spontaneously and easily. Smiles
are guaranteed.

Shane Black has an obvious inten-
tion to create an action comedy in old
school style, thereby using the nostal-
gic and recognizable iconography of
the 70’s. The film loudly vibrates in the
rhythm of the disco-funk music from
this period, however what is offered as
a film music, seems like it has been tak-
en from an outdated instruction man-
ual or a CD compilation of the greatest
disco hits purchased on a green mar-
ket. All right, probably no one expects
Shane Black to creatively use the music
in the film. It is a privilege of Scorsese,
Tarantino, Jarmusch, and several oth-
ers.

Maybe after seeing “Nice Guys”, the
film lovers will gladly return to the
“Chinese Quarter” of Polanski, “Long
Goodbye” of Altman, or they would
want once again to get lost in the mul-
tilayered Los Angeles from The Big Leb-
owski of the Coen brothers.

Still, the careless fun and their plea-
sures sometimes make perfect sense.
Especially in summer.
