Energy management requires an approach
with the same culture for the purpose of
continuous improvement of the use of
energy, as it was successfully done in the
industry when the quality and safety of
production were improved.
All our project activities include
the four postulates from the standard:
dedication, planning, implementation and
check. The process begins by ensuring
commitment by the top management. The
commitment is more than a statement of
support – it determines the assignments
and the responsibilities. The next step
is formation of a team that would be
responsible for energy consumption.
Once the team members have clearly
assigned roles and assignments, with an
appropriate training for this purpose,
they can start with identification of the
possibilities for an improvement, for
planning, for undertaking activities in
accordance with what has been planned,
and for monitoring of progress. The entire
process requires a focus, a systematically
thought out approach in energy
consumption management, and above all,
a willingness to change.
Does the Project refer only to
electricity or to other types of energy as
well, consumed by production companies?
What is the interest, and the need of
companies to perform monitoring and to
manage other types of energy, in addition
to electricity? What are the benefits?
D. Blazev: Electricity is mostly used
in the consumption of energy in our
industrial sectors. Given the absence of
a transmission and distribution network
for natural gas, which is expected to be
developed in our country in the future, the
use of electricity in industrial processes
is inefficient due to the important losses
in the transformation of energy from the
point of production to the final consumer.
