“Swisslion” LLC Skopje has developed a detailed analysis of all costs that burden the

product price, whereby direct and indirect costs are also reviewed. What is particularly

important in this operation is the accurate distribution of costs for all fuels that are being

used in production processes. Accordingly, energy costs are definitely an important item in

the cost structure.

The data offered by the system include current data about the measured parameters, as

well as all historical data that are stored in the software. The current data provide monitoring

of the parameters in real time, as well as an opportunity to set limits and appropriate alarms.

Historical data on the other hand, enable statistical processing and detailed analysis of

parameters which is actually the basis of energy consumption management. Since the system

My estimation of the decision to invest in energy consumption systems is extremely

positive from two aspects. One aspect is the very project with USAID, which in addition to

the opportunity to use 50% grant for the entire investment, also offered an expertise which was definitively precious.

The second aspect is what we received as a company from the very investment in the system. In a few words, these

are the contributions: measurement and monitoring of several parameters, their statistical processing, setting alarms

to overcome default values, possibility to accurately monitor the consumption according to cost points, monitoring of

the network quality, as well as a plan for interventions to improve the consumption in accordance with the performed

analyses. This is the message to the other companies - the contributions provided by the system are basically that it enables

a comprehensive energy management of the company from technical, but also from financial point of view.

In the production process, every type of cost is an important item in the global cost structure

in the company. Specifically in regard to energy costs, we are proud with the fact that in 2014

our costs for energy and natural gas consumption were 265,000 Euros, while in 2015 ending

with the month of September these costs were in the amount of 167,000 Euros at the same

level of production, and the expectation for the total annual energy costs is approximately

225,000 Euros. This means that we have successfully managed the energy consumption in

the current year.

The system provides us with data for monitoring the consumed energy (monitoring of total

consumed energy or consumed energy from specific sectors: machines, heating, lighting),

data on the consumption of natural gas, steam and compressed air in the production plants.

These data are obtained through already set automatically generated reports or manually

DS Smith - Macedonia Alarms are an integral part of this system, they are used for timely notification in an event

of an unplanned shutdown or malfunction in some of the monitored facilities.

The diagrams for monitoring of the situation in real time are given in the initial screen

and they are being created by every user who has access to the system. They are an excellent tool for monitoring the

correctness of the settings in the entire factory.

The introduction of this system in our company started a process of analysis of the consumers according to which

appropriate conclusions are drawn and appropriate measures are being undertaken for more efficient operation and

rational utilization of electricity and gas.

In addition to energy monitoring devices, devices for monitoring of natural gas, compressed air and steam have been

installed as well, which are the basic assets in the production process.

Such investments should be welcomed in every company because with the installation of such modern software you

shift to the group of modern (smart) companies that not only can perform local check, but also remote check (through the

Internet) of the current condition, accuracy and level of consumption in the technological process.
