cording to their competitive-
ness. What position does the
 Republic of Macedonia have?

position compared to the previous ranking
when it was ranked on the 60th place.
However, Macedonia remains one of the
best ranked countries from our region, only
Bulgaria, Slovenia and Romania and ranked
better. Actually, best ranked in the world
are: Switzerland, which is on the first place,
followed by Singapore, the United States of
America, the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden,
United Kingdom, Japan, Hong Kong and
Finland.

The ranking is according to the assessment for the
realizations in so called pillars of competitiveness
foreverycountry.Macedonia’spositionisrelatively
better in the efficiency of the market of goods
(34th place), the macroeconomic environment
(44) and the innovations (51), while it is worse
ranked in the efficiency of the labour market (95),
the sector of health and primary education (92)
and the infrastructure (80). In addition, a survey
has been conducted for the executive directors
within the World Economic Forum. Of 16 offered
factors, they were supposed to choose 5 most
problematic ones for doing business in some
country, and they were supposed to rank them
appropriately. The second graph shows the
results from the statements of the executive
directors for the Macedonian economy.
