Points of
excellence
You never know when,
where and who may tell
you something which may
strongly affect your per-
spective. Almost by de-
fault, these are not entire changedthrough points of excellence,
speeches, rather they are
scattered sentences, exactly as the former
“pearls of wisdom”.
Such a thing has happened to me many
times, however I would point out the ex-
ample from last year’s Summit of the orga-
nization “Macedonia2025”. Among others,
a lecture was held by Jim Dunn, a business
consultant from the United Kingdom, a
man with accumulated experience. He
spoke about the culture of behavior within
the companies and the need to align this
culture with the vision and the goals of the
company. Thereby, Dunn said that the indi-
viduals and the organizations do not func-
tion at the level of their potential, rather
at the level of their conviction. In this re-
gard, in order to change the behavior, it is
necessary to change the conviction, that is,
the mental matrix of the individuals or the
company, and appropriate methods have
already been though out for this purpose,
etc.
During the coffee break at the confer-
ence, I asked Mr. Dunn one very simple
question: Fine, this is what is being done in
a company. However, there is management
in every company or ultimately, owners of
the company. And they have mechanisms
to cause the required change of culture
within the company. However, how should
this be done in a society, which by the way
is exceptionally divided, because the soci-

eties do not have a “boss” and the mecha-
nisms have to be different?
His answer was fascinating. He said,
the mental matrix of a society can be
points through which positive energy will
be spread, and which together in one mo-
ment will lead to the desired transforma-
tion!
Jim Dunn was not announced as a star
at the conference, there were many others
at the conference, who also said fantastic
things. However, his thought, his sentence
he told me during the break, to me was the
star sentence of this event. From that mo-
ment, I started to think through the mental
matrix of points of excellent. That is how
I see “Economy and Business”, as a point
where honestly, without calculations and
political agendas, some of the best minds
are united in the search for solutions for
better life for everyone in this country.
This is how I see the first annual con-
ference “Perspectives 2016”, which is or-
ganized by “Economy and Business” on
November 11 this year. It would be a huge,
serious, professional event, an event free of
politics, an event focused on the future, on
the essentially important questions which
have long-term consequences and which
mean a lot for the life, an event with excel-
lent, carefully selected speakers who have
what to say. I shall repeat, a person never
knows when and where something can be
heard which can change the perspective of
the world, the perspective of the ambience
where it leads the business, the perspective
of what the future brings, what this means
for the personal business.
