What is happening with
the average gross salary
paid per employee in the
Republic of Macedonia?
Average gross salary paid per employee (in Euros)
The graph shows that the average paid Source: State Statistical Office. When calculating the amounts in Euros,
gross salary in the Republic of Macedonia exchange rate of 61.5 denars for a Euro is used.
for several years is slightly more than 500
Euros. In the past three years, we register Activities with the highest and the lowest paid gross
growth of the average gross salary. Thereby salary per employee (in Euros, end of 2015)
the nominal annual growth in December
compared to December last year, was Source: State Statistical Office. When calculating the amounts in Euros,
minimal 0.1% in 2013, then it reached 3.9% exchange rate of 61.5 denars for a Euro is used.
in 2014 and it reduced to 1.7% in 2015.
The situation of growth in real sizes is a bit
different. In 2013 the annual real growth of
the gross salary was negative (-1.3%), then it
increased to 4.5% in 2014 and it reduced to
2% in 2015.
As for many other things, the perception of the
values seems much different if one performs
a more profound analysis of data. The graph
presents the gross salaries in four activities with
the highest gross salary and the four activities
with the lowest gross salary in the Republic of
Macedonia. The data show that the paid gross
salary is highest in the field of financial activities
and insurance (998 Euros). Contrary to this, in the
group of lowest gross salaries on the bottom is
the gross salary in the activity “accommodation
facilities” (only 352 Euros). What attracts the
attention is the fact that this group of 4 activities
with the lowest gross salaries includes the paid
gross salaries in agriculture (386 Euros) and in the
manufacturing industry (431 Euros). These are
below the average for the entire economy, which
can be an interesting thing for the potential
investors.
